TAOYUAN, Taiwan (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen visited Taoyuan's military site on Thursday (May 11) to oversee the nation's first female reservist training sessions.
Tsai expressed gratitude for female veteran soldiers and officers, noting that many have taken special leave from work or are away from their children to undergo the 5-day training.
The President praised the reservists' dedication, stating their actions would significantly enhance the country's protection.
During the visit, female reservists practiced firing live ammunition during a simulated attack from enemy forces.
Tsai observed the training exercises and spoke with the reservists, who will have received the same training as their male counterparts by the end of the program on Friday.
