TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The 2024 Taipei International Automobile and Motorcycle Parts and Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA) and Autotronics trade shows, set for April 17 to 20, are focusing on the automotive and motorcycle industry's push toward net-zero emissions.

During the opening on Wednesday (April 17), Taiwan's Economic Minister Wang Mei-hua underscored Taiwan's leadership in auto parts manufacturing and mobility solutions, with attendees from 19 countries including the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, and Japan.

Wang highlighted Taiwan’s four-decade history in traditional car components, boasting an annual production value exceeding NT$200 billion. "Despite the amount being hard to calculate, the IEK estimated that the annual production value of the auto electric parts was over NT$400 billion last year. The IEK also predicted that by 2028, the production value will surpass NT$900 billion," she said.

AIT Director Sandra Oudkirk emphasized the strong business ties and shared progress toward green transportation between the U.S. and Taiwan, noting significant global supply chain enhancements and joint efforts against climate change.

The global automotive parts market is expected to see substantial growth, offering numerous opportunities for Taiwan's small and medium-sized enterprises. With Europe's 2035 ban on ICE model sales, the demand for new energy vehicles and safety systems is likely to increase, further expanding supply chain ecosystems.
