Cho Jung-tai unveils new cabinet appointments amid criticism (TVBS News)

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier-designate Cho Jung-tai responded to criticism of his cabinet as old, male, and pro-independent on Tuesday (April 16), stating that the cabinet team is a collective commitment and contribution to the people. He added that the full picture cannot be seen at once and will be introduced to the public in stages.

Cho held a press conference on the same day to announce the third wave of cabinet appointments.

 


He unveiled six new appointments, including the Minister of Economic Affairs-designate J.W. Kuo, Minister of Digital Affairs-designate Huang Yen-nun, incoming National Science and Technology Council chair Wu Cheng-wen, incoming National Development Council chair Paul Liu, incoming Financial Supervisory Commission chair Peng Jin-lung, and incoming Public Construction Commission chair Chen Chin-te.

Cho emphasized that the new cabinet team will keep economic development and fair distribution at heart as a way to give back to Taiwanese society. He reiterated that the cabinet is a comprehensive commitment to the people and will be introduced in stages, underscoring that the full picture cannot be seen all at once.
