TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier-designate Cho Jung-tai unveiled the second round of Cabinet appointments on Friday (April 12), appointing former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislator Liu Shih-fang as Minister of the Interior.

The announcement was made during a press event where the spotlight shone on the new Minister of Culture, Li Yuan, who also writes under the name Xiao Ye and formerly worked with Ko Wen-je, the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) chair.

The updated Cabinet includes Li Men-yen as Minister of Transportation and Communications, Cheng Ming-chien as Minister of Justice, and Cheng Ying-yao as Minister of Education.

Cho described the appointments as "a steady forward personnel announcement," emphasizing the incoming ministers' extensive experience and robust qualifications. "They are full of confidence and ready to tackle longstanding and emerging challenges," he noted.

Before the press conference, Cho requested patience and discretion from the media during the consultation phase, saying, "I will be very embarrassed if the list is disclosed prematurely." He encouraged the media to collaborate in identifying and recruiting future Cabinet members.

As the transition is set for May 20, outgoing Premier Chen Chien-jen earlier highlighted that he would brief Cho on all pertinent legislative measures and plans of the Executive Yuan.
