KAOHSIUNG (TVBS News) — Feastogether, a popular restaurant located in Kaohsiung's Dream Mall, was temporarily shut down on Wednesday (Feb. 7) for a comprehensive cleanliness sweep following reports of food poisoning.

Several patrons who dined at the restaurant last Saturday complained of vomiting and diarrhea.

The Kaohsiung City Government's Department of Health, upon receiving notices from hospitals about the illnesses, is currently conducting a probe to identify the source of the contamination.

With potential legal implications in the offing, the health department warned that if investigations determine that food safety regulations have been breached, penalties would be enforced in accordance with the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation, which could mean fines exceeding NT$60,000.

In response to the allegations, the Feastogether Group has pledged full cooperation with government food safety policies, and promised to make suitable arrangements for customers whose dining plans were disrupted by the incident.
