Chu Tien-yu earns 2nd place at Mister Friendship Int’l

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Chu Tien-yu from Taiwan placed second at the 2023 Mister Friendship International pageant and first in the national costume award. He also bagged the second-best award in the swimsuit competition.

In an announcement made in mid-December, Chu said his outstanding performance was bolstered by the continuous support and cheer from fans abroad and in Taiwan.

Overwhelmed by the opportunity to represent Taiwan and realize his childhood dream of becoming a model, Chu could not hide his emotions.

"Winning this award is also the fulfillment of my childhood dream of becoming a model," said a thrilled Chu.

Chu earned his master's from the Department of Physics at National Taiwan University, and joined Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), a premier professional opportunity, after graduation.

However, dreaming of glitz and glam, he decided to start from ground zero in the entertainment industry, to pursue his dream.
