The couple, who tied the knot in 2014 and were once seen as having a loving relationship, decided on an amicable divorce agreement after facing challenges in their marriage. Factors contributing to their separation included the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced them into a long-distance relationship, along with personality differences.

Rumors about their marriage issues had circulated for some time, with speculation arising last September when Li did not send flowers to Hsu's concert at the Taipei Arena.
