Speculation grows over Gou‘s potential TPP collaboration (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Lai Pei-hsia, the designated running mate of independent presidential candidate Terry Gou, visited the Central Election Commission (CEC) alone to retrieve the election registration form around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 22).
When pressed about the timing of their official registration and the prospects of sharing a ticket with Gou, Lai responded with a smile but refrained from divulging any specifics, merely stating that necessary procedures were being followed.
Upon collecting the application forms, Lai expressed appreciation on behalf of Gou for the public's keen interest and concern. When questioned by the media about her feelings and perceptions of the political climate, she deftly diverted to comment on the day's favorable weather instead.
Amidst speculation regarding Gou's potential collaboration with Taiwan People's Party (TPP) presidential contender Ko Wen-je, and whether Gou might choose to run independently, Huang Shih-hsiu, Gou's campaign spokesperson, stated that all options were on the table. He suggested that a definitive announcement could be expected by Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.
