TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Minister of Economic Affairs, Wang Mei-hua, attended a legislative inquiry session on Monday (Oct. 30), where she expressed concerns about maintaining a 2% GDP growth rate this year, despite recent signs of economic recovery.

Wang acknowledged that while positive trends continued as expected, external factors affecting economies worldwide remained significant. She detailed inflation, the Russia-Ukrainian war, and the added impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as global market influences.

However, the minister reiterated that Taiwan's key advantages, namely innovation and efficiency, remain in play despite external economic pressures.

In related news, Taiwan's National Development Council (NDC) revealed an improvement in its September assessment of economic measures. The comprehensive score increased from 15 points in August to 17, hinting at subtle growth amid global adversity.

Despite global challenges, Taiwanese authorities and think tanks remain cautiously optimistic, ready to leverage the nation's inherent strengths.
