TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan has experienced a meager number of typhoons, recording only 16 between January and October this year, according to the director of Taiwan Integrated Disaster Prevention of Technology, Chia Hsin-hsing.

He explained that the figure is the third-lowest recorded since 1951 and is significantly less than the long-term average of 22.5 typhoons.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese meteorologists are predicting minor rainfall along the country's north and northeastern coast, extending to eastern Yilan and Hualien on Monday (Oct. 31). There will be scattered showers in the same region the following day.

The weather across Taiwan is expected to remain stable between Nov. 2 and Nov. 5.

However, a slight increase in the northeastern monsoon on Nov. 6 is forecast to bring short-duration rain to areas north of Taoyuan and Yilan County. Hualien's coast is also anticipated to see isolated showers.

On Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, meteorologists predict isolated and localized showers in eastern Yilan and Hualien.
