Overcast conditions, persisting rain in northern Taiwan (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported on Monday (Oct. 30) that due to the continuous impact of the northeast monsoon, overcast conditions and spells of rain persist in regions to the north of Taoyuan and the eastern half of Taiwan.
The rain is more evident in the northeastern areas, while the rest of the nation experiences partly to mostly sunny weather.
Southern mountainous regions are susceptible to sporadic short rain showers, with the possibility of brief thunderstorms looming over other mountainous areas in the afternoon, the CWA said.
Monday's temperatures in the north and east will range from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, which is slightly higher than that of the previous day. In areas with less cloud coverage, temperatures might hit a higher 29 to 30 degrees.
Tuesday will still be influenced by the northeast monsoon, with isolated short showers in areas north of Taoyuan and the eastern part of Taiwan.
Meanwhile, other territories, including Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will experience a mix of clouds and sunshine, with sporadic showers in the mountains in the afternoon.
Starting Wednesday, as the northeast monsoon weakens, fewer areas will experience rain. However, the eastern regions and Hengchun Peninsula may still experience localized transient rains.
The rest of Taiwan is expected to see mostly sunny weather, with short isolated showers in the mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan in the afternoon.
From Thursday to Sunday, the weather will become more stable, with most areas expecting sunny conditions, with only the eastern regions, the north coast in Keelung, and the Hengchun Peninsula expecting isolated rain.
The forthcoming temperature during the period is likely to reach a high of 28 to 30 degrees, with early morning lows ranging from 20 to 23 degrees.
