TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan McDonald's has recently closed two outlets, the Kenting Store in Pingtung and the Carrefour Chiayi Store, aligning with its strategy of focusing on more successful locations.
Despite the recent closures, Taiwan McDonald's has plans to open new outlets in response to market changes, anticipating an overall increase in the total number of stores.
This year, the fast-food corporation aims to open 19 new outlets while closing 18. Starting in 2021, Taiwan McDonald's has renovated 40 to 60 restaurants annually to ensure a fresh and updated look.
This renovation process includes a comprehensive review of related building regulations, sometimes leading to structural changes such as removing some freight elevators or closing certain dining areas.
Looking ahead, Taiwan McDonald's will continue its expansion strategy, and the number of stores is expected to keep increasing.
