TAIPEI (TVBS News) — An internet survey conducted by The China Times showed that 64% of respondents believe former Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu does not boost Hou's popularity. In comparison, 30% think he does, and 6% remained undecided.
According to recent poll results, public support continues to be a concern for Kuomintang (KMT) presidential hopeful Hou Yu-ih.
Earlier, Han held meetings with both Hou and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Chairman and presidential hopeful Ko Wen-je as discussions continue for a possible alignment between KMT and TPP for 2024.
KMT Chairman Eric Chu extended an offer to Han to serve as vice chairman. Han, in turn, announced he was considering the proposal, stating that his commitment would remain strong regardless of the position.
During an exclusive interview with TVBS, Han emphasized his wholesome intent and concern that holding a party position might be interpreted as personal ambition, hence his deliberation over Chu's offer.
The China Times reported that close to 20,000 individuals participated in the web poll conducted until 11 p.m., Oct. 11.
