TAOYUAN (TVBS News) — A 10-year-old Taoyuan boy, surnamed Hsu, who dreamt of becoming a police officer despite suffering from bone cancer, had his wish fulfilled by a police station in Taoyuan City.
From a young age, Hsu admired the courage and public service spirit exemplified by police officers.
At the age of 8, Hsu was diagnosed with bone cancer and wrested with pain from constant chemotherapy for over two years. His bravery and resilience never wavered.
To make his dreams come true, the Taoyuan City Police Bureau joined hands with the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation and prepared a police uniform for Hsu to let him experience police work, introducing him to tasks like riding in a police car.
Wu Kun-hsu, the Director of the Taoyuan City Police Bureau, served as a proxy in presenting student aid from the Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation. Hsu was also given his favorite LEGO toys.
Through this initiative, the Taoyuan Police aim to stimulate societal awareness and concern for cancer patients, encouraging individuals to participate in activities supporting these children.
