Lai Ching-te appoints campaign HQ heads across Taiwan

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Lai Ching-te, the presidential candidate for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), arrived at the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) International Convention Center on Thursday (Aug. 31) to appoint the chiefs of his campaign headquarters across Taiwan.

Chen Shih-chung, the former Minister of Health and Welfare, is taking the helm in Taipei City as chairman of the campaign office. At the same time, in New Taipei City, Yu Tian, a current legislator, is assigned the task.

Sources indicate that Taoyuan City's campaign center will be established under the guidance of Fan Chen-hsiu.

Meanwhile, Taichung City's office will allegedly be spearheaded by Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Yuan, Tsai Chi-chang, and mayors Huang Wei-che and Chen Chi-mai will respectively lead the offices in Tainan City and Kaohsiung City.

With less than four months before the 2024 presidential elections, all candidates are doing their best to garner more support before the big day.
