TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Renowned German food delivery platform, Foodpanda, has updated its fee structure on Wednesday (Aug. 9) with the goal of rewarding its avid users.

Starting today, Foodpanda introduced a dynamic pricing model, replacing its flat-rate platform fee with charges based on various factors, including the consumer's location, delivery distances, and peak-hour delivery.

The fee adjustments, ranging from a mere NT$1 to a maximum of NT$9, were implemented nationwide with outlying islands included. According to statistics, approximately 60% of orders will incur fees below NT$3.

Meanwhile, Uber Eats, one of Foodpanda's competitors, initiated a fee reduction plan on June 30. The average reduction of around 40% in delivery fees is geared towards offering a more competitive market. Due to factors such as locations and distances, Uber Eats' adjustment will likely result in service fees ranging from NT$5 to NT$40.
