TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Two sergeants at the Army's 10th Corps Command in Taiwan were found unconscious in their bedroom on Monday (June 26) and later pronounced dead. The cause of their death is still under investigation, and a special task force has been established to cooperate with the police and prosecutor's office.

The 10th Army Corps Command secured the premises for further examination following the unfortunate event. They also reported the matter to the Taichung Military Police and the Taichung City Police Department Daya Precinct. The case is currently under the authority of the Taichung District Prosecutor's Office, and a dedicated task force is working to ascertain the cause of death.

The Army's 10th Corps Command expresses deep regret and condolences to the families of the deceased. Both sergeants, identified by the surname Chen, failed to appear for the morning roll call earlier in the day and were discovered unconscious in their barracks before being rushed to the hospital. Preliminary reports suggest a potential intoxication of carbon monoxide with a letter found at the scene.

The 10th Army Corps Command has indicated that the evidence collected at the scene is being carefully examined. The military said no further updates will be provided as the investigation remains ongoing.
