TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Shih Chien University's graduation fashion show was a huge success, as student designers wowed judges and professors alike with their stunning and innovative creations.
Masa Tung, associate professor and head of the Department of Fashion Design at Shih Chien University, shared insights about the success of their runway show on Friday (April 28). Tung explained how the performance was completed in just one semester, which added to the students' nerves.
Despite this pressure, Tung noted that the students excelled in all three stages of the competition: the preliminaries, semi-finals, and finals. This was partly due to the department's unique training, which includes mentors and industry professionals who provided valuable advice throughout the creative process.
"The mentors and industry professionals played a crucial role in guiding the students," Tung stated. "They were able to offer advice on everything from design concepts to materials, and even makeup and hairstyles."
The students were initially very nervous, as they had to come up with concepts from scratch and had no idea how the process would unfold. However, with the help of their mentors, they were able to create mood boards, produce prototypes, and plan every aspect of the show that unfolded on Friday, April 28.
"It was truly a collaborative effort," Tung explained. "Each of the seven sets featured in the show was completed by a single student, showcasing their individual creativity and dedication to the craft."
Despite the challenges and nerves that come with completing a graduation performance in just one semester, the students at Shih Chien University's Department of Fashion Design proved that anything is possible with hard work and proper guidance.
