TAIPEI (TVBS NEWS)  — An unidentified aircraft in Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) received five warnings from an air traffic controller on Tuesday (March 14) in a concerning incident that has raised questions about flight safety.

The first order for the unidentified aircraft to leave was issued at 11:37 a.m. local time. However, it did not comply immediately, leading to four more warnings from the air traffic controller.

The aircraft reportedly flew at 30,000 feet, which could seriously impact flight safety.

A former pilot and current Taipei City Councilor, Chang Chih-hao, warned that "there will be potential dangers and threats to civil aviation safety."

The Civil Aeronautics Administration stated that they had not received any information from the Ministry of Defense regarding the identity of the unidentified aircraft or whether it belonged to China's People's Liberation Army (PLA).

On the same day, the Taiwanese air force ordered a PLA aircraft to stay away from the ADIZ at 10:57 a.m. local time, adding to tensions between the two sides.

The incident highlights the ongoing military and diplomatic tensions between Taiwan and China and the potential risks to aviation safety in the region.
