TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taiwan Lantern Festival has returned to Taipei after 23 years and will run until Sunday (Feb. 19).
The Eastern District of Taipei is trendy, featuring over 40 lantern installations and artistic displays.
This year's festival showcases lanterns and artworks created by artists from Taiwan and around the world, infusing art into the commercial district.
The Chairman of East District Plus, Han Hsiu-he, said they used the alleyways and shops in the Eastern District to showcase the artworks.
With diverse styles, including lighting installations, spatial designs, paintings, and three-dimensional weaving, the displays demonstrate a wealth of creative expression.
Han also hopes the "Lantern Festival can help bring more consumers" to the area.
The 2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival brings life to the city and creates a festive atmosphere, blending art and culture to brighten the bustling urban lifestyle.
