阿拉伯聯合大公國人口最多的城市杜拜（Dubai），擁有許多高聳天際的建築，每年都吸引許多建築迷慕名前往；然而，全球最高的哈里發塔（Burj Khalifa）附近，今（7）日凌晨卻有一棟35層樓的高樓發生大火，從網路上流傳的影片可看到有多個樓層一度陷入火海，畫面怵目驚心。

杜拜近年曾發生過多起高樓火警，讓外界對當地的消防規範產生疑慮。2015年的跨年夜，杜拜市中心一棟63層樓高的高級酒店「阿德瑞斯飯店」(The Address Hotel)就發生火災，當時造成1死14傷。2017年，知名的86層樓「火炬大廈」（Torch Tower）也竄出惡火，所幸無人員傷亡。
