TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Customers crowded Taiwan telecom stores Friday (Sept. 19) as Apple (蘋果) launched the iPhone 17 series nationwide. Major carrier outlets reported significant crowds lining up to purchase the latest device. The launch generated widespread consumer interest across the island's telecommunications market.
Chunghwa Telecom's (CHT, 中華電信), Taiwan's largest telecommunications company, East District Service Center drew enthusiasts who secured spots after Apple's Sept. 10 product launch event. Mr. Hsu maintained his six-year streak of purchasing each new iPhone model first, beginning with the iPhone 12. The devoted Apple fan demonstrated the brand loyalty driving Taiwan's smartphone market.
Taiwan's three major carriers coordinated separate launch events across Taipei. Chunghwa Telecom hosted its inaugural iPhone 17 sale at the Xiangshan Station (象山站) East District Service Center. Taiwan Mobile (台灣大哥大) selected Songshan Cultural and Creative Park for its direct sales event, while Far EasTone (遠傳) chose Taipei Information Park's Syntrend store. Taiwan Mobile enlisted annual ambassador Lee Ju-eun (李珠珢) to promote the series launch.◼
