TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Ministry of Labor (MOL, 勞動部) reportedly has been unable to contact Hsieh Yi-jung (謝宜容) since Thursday (Nov. 21) afternoon, complicating plans for her to issue a public apology on Friday (Nov. 22), according to media reports. Hsieh, the former head of the Workforce Development Agency's northern branch, faces accusations of workplace bullying following a civil servant's suicide.
Labor Minister Ho Pei-shan (何佩珊) promised Wednesday to accompany Hsieh for the apology. However, the MOL confirmed it could not reach her after notifying her about a performance appraisal meeting Thursday afternoon, when the ministry asked Hsieh to express her views and discuss her willingness to apologize Friday.
Despite sending a LINE message to Hsieh, the MOL reported that she did not read or respond and made no further contact attempts Friday. The situation remains tense as public scrutiny intensifies over the alleged bullying incident. Observers are now questioning how the ministry will proceed without Hsieh's cooperation.
