HSINCHU (TVBS News) — Zhubei City Office (竹北市公所) announced plans on Thursday (July 11) to establish a "Parent-Child Center" and a "Daycare Center" to help parents manage childcare responsibilities amid the city's growing population.
According to the press release issued on the same day, officials in Zhubei City secured nearly NT$50 million in funding from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Social and Family Affairs Administration (衛生福利部社會及家庭署).
Mayor Cheng Chao-fang (鄭朝方) highlighted that the eastern district, the city's most densely populated area, primarily comprises dual-income families with urgent daycare needs. He stated that the Parent-Child Center will offer a space for parents and children to learn, read, play, and bond together, enhancing their relationship.
The new daycare center aims to address the shortage of such facilities in the Zhubei area. Officials plan to develop it into a public daycare center to support new parents. Future plans also include establishing a temporary care center to offer caregivers a respite. This initiative reflects Zhubei's commitment to supporting its growing community and addressing the needs of working parents.
