TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) announced on Sunday (May 5) the retention of several deputy ministers in the new cabinet.
President-elect Tsai Ing-wen and designated Premier Cho Jung-tai have announced six waves of new cabinet personnel.
Frank Juan and Lee Ching-hua will continue to serve as Deputy Ministers of Finance. Both have extensive administrative experience within the Ministry of Finance.
Chen Chern-chyi will remain as the Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs. Chen, with his comprehensive overseas experience and proficiency in international negotiations and economic affairs, will continue to leverage his expertise in international trade regulations.
In the Ministry of Culture, Deputy Ministers Lee Ching-hwi and Sue Wang will retain their positions. Lee previously served as the deputy director of the National Palace Museum, while Wang held positions such as deputy mayor of Tainan City and director of the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection will retain Yeh Jiunn-Horng and Shih Wen-chen as deputy ministers. Yeh has held various positions within the Environmental Protection Administration, while Shih, an academic, has expertise in climate regulations, carbon pricing, and carbon trading.
The Ministry of Labor will continue with Wang An-pang and Hsu Chuan-sheng as deputy ministers, both of whom have extensive administrative experience.
In the Digital Ministry, Herming Chiueh will remain as deputy minister, while Lin Yi-jing, president of L Labs Inc, will join as the other deputy minister. They will supervise the enhancement of domestic cybersecurity measures and promote the strengthening of national digital resilience.
