TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Ma Ying-jeou Foundation Director Hsiao Hsu-tsen announced Monday (March 25) that former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou will visit China again in April.
Hsiao expressed hope for a meeting between Ma and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, but said arrangements would be respected according to China's plans.
Ma's second visit is set to begin on April 1. He will lead a group of young people from the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation exchange program in a visit to Peking University in Beijing.
The former president's visit will extend until April 11, during which he will travel to regions including Guangdong and Shaanxi.
Ma will guide the students on visits to historical and cultural sites in China, including Sun Yat-sen University, and will attend a grand ceremony worshipping the Yellow Emperor.
The itinerary for Ma's China visit has been reported to the Presidential Office, according to Hsiao.
