TAIPEI (TVBS News) —On Friday (March 15), Premier Chen Chien-jen expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of an innocent life regarding a recent child abuse case.

Chen urged central and local governments to review their response procedures and be prudent in selecting relevant child protection agencies.
He added that he had instructed the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) to amend The Protection of Children and Youths Welfare and Rights Act, while Minister without Portfolio Lin Wan-i was tasked with completing a review of the adoption system within a month.
He reiterated the importance of collaboration among central and local governments and civic groups to safeguard the rights of children and youth and handle this case with care.
