TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan People's Party (TPP) Legislator Huang Shan-shan highlighted on Monday (Feb. 26), the necessity for incumbent lawmakers to devote their attention entirely to legislative tasks.
Her comments followed fellow party member, Huang Kuo-chang's radio interview on the same day where he expressed support for Huang Shan-shan in a hypothetical bid for the Taipei mayoral race. "To have a future, you need to perform well in the present," Huang Shan-shan emphasized in response to reporters.
At a press conference today on judicial reform, Huang Shan-shan was questioned on a potential campaign for the 2026 Taipei mayoral seat.
Huang explained that the eight at-large legislators are each coupled with a designated district to be overseen. She stressed every district requires management and care.
Huang Kuo-chang, who chimed in, explained his response in the radio interview. He said every legislator has a duty-bound responsibility to perform well in their roles at the legislature while also doing commendable grassroots work in their respective areas.
