TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Golden Horse Award-winning actress Alyssia Chia graced the cover of the February edition of lifestyle magazine ELLE, a prominent example of her continued success since entering the performing arts scene at age 16 with her breakthrough role in Taiwan's first-generation family comedy "A Happy Family."
Chia's diverse talent was distinctly exhibited in her roles in period dramas such as "Flying Dragon in The Sky," "The Heaven Sword and the Dragon Saber," and "Secret History of Princess Taiping."
A turning point in her career, she believes, came in 2019 with "The World Between Us," a drama that profoundly explores capital punishment and mental health issues. Preparing for her complex roles often necessitates isolation, Chia recounted, to fully immerse in her character.
Off-stage, Chia's life intertwines closely with her husband, Hsiu Chieh-kai. The couple always respects and supports each other's choices both personally and professionally. Hsiu fondly described Chia as his "fourth daughter."
"Rather than commanding, we prefer to encourage each other," Chia said in the interview. "By putting ourselves in the other's shoes, even for small matters, we can provide positive momentum." Although it's a process they're still mastering, Chia sweetly shared, "We're learning and improving every day."
