TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taoyuan City Government began accepting applications for its "Unemployed Workers' Children's Study Assistance Subsidy" (失業勞工子女助學補助) on Jan. 22, offering up to NT$11,800, with the application period running until Mar. 25.
The city government said the program offers additional subsidies for children of unemployed workers attending private colleges and universities. After applying for an NT$24,000 study subsidy for children of unemployed workers from the Ministry of Labor, Taoyuan City can provide an additional subsidy of up to NT$11,800.
Eligible applicants must be involuntarily unemployed and registered in Taoyuan City for over four months. Their children should be studying at private colleges or universities and submit relevant documents during the acceptance period. Upon approval, they can receive a maximum of NT$11,800 in subsidies.
The city government added that even if qualified applicants have not received the Ministry of Labor's subsidy, they can still apply for the NT$11,800 study assistance subsidy from Taoyuan City.
Applicants can submit the required documentation by registered mail or through the Taoyuan e-government web portal.
