TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an emphasized on Thursday (Jan. 18) the necessity for Kuomintang (KMT) to secure citizens' recognition through substantial accomplishments.
Speaking before the press at an opening ceremony of a building in Taipei, Chiang explained his viewpoint that political achievements are essential to gain public endorsement and is willing to offer suggestions to encourage young people's trust in the KMT.
As for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the situation concerning its presidential candidate Lai Ching-te's withdrawal from the New Tide faction, Chiang clarified that it's a matter concerning the DPP.
He added that he hopes the future central government will focus more on national affairs and less on politics.
