NEW TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Tucheng Precinct of New Taipei City Police Department explained on Tuesday (Dec. 26) that students found possessing harmful weapons such as knives will be faced with the Criminal Code of the Republic of China, Social Order Maintenance Act, and Juvenile Justice Act upon actionable reports from schools.
A day earlier, police officers arrested a student, surnamed Kuo, and Lin, a girl suspected of instigating a serious crime.
Both individuals are under investigation for an attempted murder case and have been sent to a juvenile court of New Taipei City District Court for trial.
Tuesday morning, the juvenile court ordered the detention of Kuo and held Lin responsible.
Kuo, accused of slashing the throat of a classmate Yang, was forwarded to the New Taipei City District Court's juvenile court alongside Lin. They were arrested on charges of attempted murder.
Collaborative measures have been deployed by Tucheng police and the school, intending to intensify patrolling within the campus. The incident, having unfolded in a classroom, has led to the mobilization of psychological counseling mechanisms for students who witnessed the traumatic event.
