TAIPEI (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen expressed her hope on Tuesday (Dec. 12) that businesses will join the government in its efforts to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions.
President Tsai made a remark during a meeting with representatives of the 25th National Golden Award for Architecture, and the 20th National Brand Yushan Award winners earlier that day.
President Tsai emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in promoting urban renewal and reconstruction of old and dangerous buildings to enhance safety and living standards.
She also pointed out that the goal of "net-zero transition" is a global objective, which aligns with Taiwan's ambitions.
Encouraging the award winners and industry leaders, President Tsai urged them to continue providing the government with suggestions that would ensure Taiwanese brands shine on the international stage.
