TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Fuyuan Peanut Butter countered claims on Friday made by the Hong Kong Consumer Council a day earlier, regarding excessive levels of Aflatoxin in its products, stating that the tested products were expired.
In response to the November report, Fuyuan emphasized the damage these allegations have caused to its reputation and announced that it has sought legal representation for further actions.
Tseng Chun-chiang, head of Fuyuan Peanut Butter, said in an interview that the company's products are made fresh daily, contain no preservatives, and have a shelf life of only three months.
Also, the Hsinchu City Public Health Bureau tested three Fuyuan products on Sept. 14: Fuyuan Peanut Butter, Fuyuan Sichuan-style Peanut Sauce, and Fuyuan Peanut Butter with Deep Ocean Salt.
The tests confirmed that the levels of aflatoxin, aflatoxin B1, and ochratoxin A in all Fuyuan Peanut Butter variants were within regulated limits. The company reaffirms its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety for its consumers.
