TAIPEI (TVBS News) — China's Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) on Wednesday (Oct. 25) emphasized that the audit of Foxconn, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd, was a "normal law enforcement action."
In a press briefing earlier that day, TAO Spokesperson Chu Feng-lien said China will continue supporting Taiwanese business people and companies investing in mainland China.
Chu pointed out that China provides opportunities and spaces for Taiwanese compatriots and businesses by creating a favorable development environment and continuing to improve policies beneficial to them.
The spokesperson stressed that while Taiwanese businesses in China share in the growth dividends and achieve development, they should also bear corresponding social responsibilities.
Chu further stated that they play a positive role in promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.
