TAIPEI (TVBS News) — King Pu-tsung, the executive officer of Kuomintang (KMt) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih's campaign office, expressed optimism for smooth talks before the meeting between KMT and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) on Saturday (Oct. 14)
The attendees include TPP presidential candidate Ko Wen-je's campaign manager, Huang Shan-shan, Ko's campaign office director, Chou Yu-hsiu, along with King and KMT's Secretary-General Justin Huang.
King said that the purpose of the meeting is to seek cooperation between both parties to remove the current Democratic Progressive Party from office in the upcoming election.
He stated an openness to exchange ideas and opinions on varied topics to find shared values and political ideals.
King conveyed a commitment to sincere and good-faith communication during the talks. He underlined that complete agreement is improbable; however, reaching consensus through discussion is possible and necessary.
King reiterated his belief that the focus of both parties should be shaping Taiwan's future through the election and ensuring a peaceful and prosperous nation.
