TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) addressed the new housing loan program for young homebuyers (新青安貸款) and minimum wage adjustments on Wednesday (Aug. 28) as the Lai Ching-te government marked 101 days in office.

According to a TVBS poll showed only 37% of people are satisfied with Cho, while 43% are dissatisfied with the performance of the Cabinet.

Speaking to reporters, Cho expressed concerns about the overheating housing market due to the new housing loan program. Banks have imposed the strictest lending restrictions in history. Cho emphasized the government will not enforce lending limits and plans to meet with the Central Bank (中央銀行) soon.

To boost youth support, Cho announced that the government would hold a review committee in early September to discuss raising the minimum wage. Cho did not comment on other current issues, such as Cheng Wen-tsan's (鄭文燦) corruption allegations.
