PARIS (TVBS News) — Taiwan's badminton player Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟) confessed to feeling tense during the first set of the Men’s Doubles match on Friday (Aug. 2), but vowed to be even more prepared for the upcoming finals match on Sunday (Aug. 4).

The Badminton Men’s Doubles duo, Lee Yang (李洋) and Wang Chi-lin, staged a comeback to defeat Denmark's Astrup Kim and Rasmussen Anders Skaarup 18-21, 21-17, 21-10 in the semifinals on Friday, securing a spot in the Gold Medal Match at the Paris Games.

Wang admitted feeling tense during the first set, which affected his performance. "The first set was very intense because I really wanted to win, but Lee Yang and our coach encouraged me a lot in the second set, and luckily, my long serve strategy worked well in the third set."

Both players expressed gratitude for their fans' support. Wang added, "After the first set, my momentum dropped in the second set, but everyone's encouragement really gave me strength. I hope to be worthy of everyone’s cheers."

On Aug. 4, Lee and Wang will face China's Liang Wei-keng (梁偉鏗) and Wang Chang (王昶) in the Gold Medal Match. Wang emphasized the importance of being well-prepared and maintaining good physical and mental states, saying, "We still have one day to rest and will prepare well to perform at our best."

Lee echoed this sentiment, stating, "We hope to play each shot well. Since we have reached the finals, we aim to showcase Taiwan's spirit and make everyone proud."
