TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) announced Tuesday (June 25) that the Executive Yuan is finalizing plans to request a constitutional interpretation as soon as possible, following procedural guidelines.

This comes after the Legislative Yuan last Friday rejected a proposal from the Executive Yuan to reconsider recently passed legislative reform bills, sparking widespread speculation about the timing of the request for constitutional review.

In response to media inquiries, Premier Cho discussed President Lai Ching-te's (賴清德) push for a constitutional interpretation and an application for a preliminary injunction. He emphasized that all government branches must respect each other's roles under the Constitution and perform their duties accordingly.

Cho expressed hope that once the grand justices of the Constitutional Court issued their decision, it would reinforce the cooperation among the five branches of government and be accepted as the constitutional way forward for the nation.

Addressing concerns about the preliminary injunction, Cho reiterated the Executive Yuan's goal to uphold the stability of the Constitution and balance among the branches. He looked forward to a unified understanding of the amendments' legality following the grand justices' ruling.
