HSINCHU (TVBS News) — In a pioneering move for Taiwan, Hsinchu City is set to host a free Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) ovarian function testing event on May 18, marking a significant step towards emphasizing women's health and fertility planning.
Hsinchu was the first city in Taiwan to offer AMH blood test subsidies, which reflects its commitment to supporting female residents in their reproductive health journey.
Fertility Support and Equality
Since the eve of Mother's Day in 2023, Hsinchu City has implemented an egg-freezing subsidy program, which has received approval from over 90% of the subsidized citizens.
In 2024, the city government expanded the subsidy scope to include spouses of new residents aged 25 to 40, aiming to promote fertility equity and family happiness.
Director Chen Hou-chuan (陳厚全) of the Hsinchu City Public Health Bureau highlighted that through AMH blood testing, 80% of female citizens gained insights into their ovarian function, aiding in their planning.
Comprehensive Services for Attendees
The event will not only offer free AMH blood tests but also provide consultations related to egg freezing, ensuring comprehensive support for women considering their fertility options. Participants are required to bring a copy of their ID card or residence permit and their spouse's ID card to access these services.
