TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) welcomed Thailand's decision to extend visa-free entry for Taiwanese nationals for another six months, until Nov. 11 on Tuesday (May 7).
This extension allows Taiwanese travelers to stay in Thailand for up to 30 days per entry, highlighting the ongoing efforts to enhance the convenience of international travel for its citizens.
The MOFA emphasized that improving the convenience of overseas business and travel for Taiwanese citizens is a priority. The ministry also pledged to continue advocating for visa exemptions and other visa facilitations for Taiwanese nationals abroad.
Thailand, a key partner in Taiwan's New Southbound Policy (新南向政策), remains one of the most popular destinations for Taiwanese tourists. This policy aims to strengthen economic and cultural ties with countries in the South Asia and Southeast Asia region, including Thailand.
In light of the visa extension, the foreign ministry reminded Taiwanese travelers to adhere to local laws and prioritize their safety in Thailand.
