Paris Cultural Olympiad invites Taiwan (Courtesy of Ministry of Culture)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taiwan is set to participate in the Cultural Olympiad in Paris, showcasing its commitment to democracy, freedom, equality, and peace through performances, Minister of Culture Shih Che announced.
The event, which aims to foster dialogue between sports and culture, will feature concerts, performances, exhibitions, films, and workshops in the host city of Paris.
The invitation to establish a pavilion at Parc de la Villette came from the park's Artistic Director Frederic Mazelly, who visited Taiwan early last year at the invitation of the Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris.
Taiwan's pavilion will run from July 27 to Aug. 10, featuring nearly 60 performances by 22 groups, including music, traditional opera adaptations, dance, and DJ sets. Additionally, the pavilion will digitally showcase the works of approximately 300 artists.
