TAIPEI (TVBS News) — China's Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) on Wednesday (April 24), demanded that the United States cease arming Taiwan in any manner, reiterating that the "Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affairs, and does not tolerate any foreign interference."

The statement comes as the U.S. Senate passed a package bill on April 23, providing military aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, and banning TikTok. U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the bill into effect today.

TAO spokesperson Chu Feng-lien said the bill violates the "One China principle and the Three Joint Communiqués, sending the wrong signal to Taiwan independence separatist forces. China firmly opposes this."

Chu further urged the U.S. to fulfill its promise of not supporting Taiwan's independence with practical actions and to stop arming Taiwan in any way.
