Significant rainfall possible next week (TVBS News)
TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) announced Friday (April 19) that despite brief showers across the region, rainfall will be minimal. Afternoon showers are expected in mountainous areas.
Temperatures in the north are expected to rise to between 26 and 28 degrees Celsius on Friday. The weekend is forecasted to be the best weather of the week, with less humidity and mostly sunny skies. A shift to southwest winds will push temperatures above 30 degrees across the region.
In the southern mountainous areas and Taitung, temperatures could exceed 36 degrees. The CWA issued a special warning for Taitung, where there is a chance of foehn winds. Brief showers are expected in the northeastern region and other mountainous areas in the afternoon.
The next weather front is expected to approach on Monday, bringing brief showers to the northern, northeastern and central mountainous regions. Afternoon showers are also expected in mountainous areas.
Rain is forecasted across Taiwan on Tuesday and Wednesday, with brief showers or thunderstorms in the western half and northeastern regions. Some areas may experience heavier rainfall, while other regions can expect brief showers or thunderstorms.
Another weather front may form near Taiwan after Thursday, potentially bringing significant rainfall to the western half and northeastern regions. This humid weather could continue into next weekend, but the scope and intensity of the rainfall will need further observation.
