Neipu, Pingtung hits record high of 37.1°C: CWA (TVBS News)

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) said Monday (April 15) that parts of southern Taiwan could see temperatures rise above 36 degrees Celsius, with the highest recorded temperature in Neipu, Pingtung reaching 37.1 degrees.

The CWA noted that as of 2 p.m., temperatures across the island had reached over 30 degrees, with the Xinyi District in northern Taipei hitting 33.9 degrees.

 


The CWA warned of high temperatures and heat throughout the day, with yellow alerts issued around noon for areas in Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County, where local temperatures could exceed 36 degrees.

In other parts of the country, Changbin Township in Taitung County recorded a high of 35.7 degrees, while Yujing District in Tainan City saw temperatures reach 35.5 degrees.
