TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Amid Iran's attack on Israel, Taiwan's Foreign Minister Joseph Wu said Monday (April 15) that approximately 20 naturalized Taiwanese in Iran, and 200 related family members and students in Israel are safe.

Wu stressed that Taiwan, in sync with democratic nations, condemns Iran's attack on Israel.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is closely monitoring the situation and the safety of Taiwanese citizens abroad, Wu stated.

Iran launched a missile and drone attack on Israel on the evening of April 13, worsening the situation in the Middle East. Wu pointed out that the international community, including the U.S., hopes to prevent regional wars and conflicts from escalating. Taiwan will continue to monitor the situation closely.

The MOFA also issued a press release a day earlier condemning the attack in unison with peace-loving democratic partners worldwide. It called for restraint from all parties involved, urging them to resolve differences through dialogue to prevent the crisis from escalating.
