Sunny weather with brief showers expected in Taiwan

TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Central Weather Administration (CWA) announced Monday (April 15) that the weather will be mostly sunny with brief showers in some areas, and low clouds and fog are likely in Kingmen and Matzu.

A weak front will reach the northern sea of Taiwan on Monday, slightly increasing the humidity in the vicinity of Taiwan. Apart from sporadic brief showers in Hualien and Taitung, there is also a chance of scattered rainfall in Greater Taipei.

Other areas will see mostly sunny weather, with brief showers in the northeastern region and the western half of the mountains in the afternoon. The daytime will be warm and slightly hot, with high temperatures generally reaching 30 to 34 degrees Celsius. The temperature could rise even higher in the mountainous areas of the south, possibly reaching 36 degrees or more. The public is advised to protect against the sun and stay hydrated. The low temperatures across the region will be around 23 to 25 degrees.

Visibility in Kingmen and Matzu may be affected by local fog or low clouds, and travelers are advised to check flight information. In addition, due to frequent aftershocks recently and a higher chance of rainfall in the mountains, unnecessary trips to the mountains should be avoided. Those traveling through mountainous areas should be alert, take protective measures, and watch out for loose soil, landslides, collapses, and falling rocks while ensuring their safety.
