TAIPEI (TVBS News) — Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an announced four measures on Thursday (April 11) in response to recent suspected food poisoning cases at Polam Kopitiam, True Wow, Xiang La Spicy Hotpot's Ximen branch, and Bafang Yunji.

The four measures include establishing an 'Investigating and Reporting Foodborne Viruses' team, increasing inspection efficiency and capacity while developing Bongkrekic Acid inspection technology, purchasing additional equipment to enhance independent inspection, and launching a special inspection project for food monitoring.

Chiang mentioned that the suspected food poisoning cases at the Ximen branches of True Wow and Xiang La Spicy Hotpot under the Wow Prime Group are currently being investigated.

The Taipei Water Department has sampled the entire building's water supply, and the results meet drinking water quality standards. While the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has also simultaneously sampled the building's water dispensers, and the results meet the standards.

Chiang pointed out that as the number of people affected by this case has exceeded 100, the Department of Health is investigating the suspected food poisoning, and initiating an epidemiological investigation to clarify the cause of the diarrhea cluster.
