TAIPEI (TVBS News) — The Taipei City Department of Health confirmed on Sunday (March 31) that a family of six was hospitalized with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea after dining at the Island Buffet Restaurant in the Grand Hilai Taipei.
Upon receiving the report, the health department immediately dispatched inspectors to collect samples from the staff's hands, roast duck, raw fish slices, knives, and chopping boards.
In addition, the health department found unclean conditions above the stir-fry area and the oven in the steak grilling area. The restaurant has been ordered to rectify these issues.
The health department has ordered the restaurant to complete improvements by April 8. If the restaurant fails to make the necessary improvements by the deadline, it could face a fine ranging from NT$ 60,000 to NT$ 200 million, according to the law.
