PENGHU (TVBS News) — President Tsai Ing-wen visited the Penghu Ocean Conservation Education Center on Thursday (March 28) to encourage the public to pay more attention to marine conservation.
Accompanied by Penghu County Commissioner Chen Kuang-fu, Presidential Office Deputy Secretary-General Alex Huang, and Chen Hui-lin, deputy executive director of the Southern Taiwan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan, Tsai toured the center.
Under the guidance of Ko Chih-hung, director of the Marine Life Propagation Station in Penghu County, Tsai learned about the center's achievements in large-scale seaweed farming, coral rehabilitation, and sea urchin farming.
She also learned about the center's efforts in marine conservation and rehabilitation.
President Tsai personally planted a coral, expressing her hope that the public will value marine conservation and contribute to the protection of the ocean.
